OK, I've done a few other things and nothing is seeming to work.
Here is the latest and I've done this to only one XP client so that I can keep things narrowed down a bit.
p=208 suggests that clients might need an update manually applied. Digital Signatures on file C:\Windows\Software are not trusted: Error 0x800b0001 It links to If that is the solution , it's unclear to me if the patch should be installed on the WSUS client or the WSUS server. Windows Update-24-10Hi There, I wrote the article on the blog that you linked.
Or even better, that there's a totally different explanation for the behaviour?
I get the following error [Error number: 0x8DDD0004] The website has encountered a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view.
We have a WSUS infrastructure that has been working fine for years. From the blog post, it seems like every client will need it - but from the Microsoft link, they just say install on every node.... I have updated the blog with some extra information, however you apply the patch from Microsoft to the WSUS server and not the clients.
On 2 new WSUS servers, new clients are not reporting correctly, they are stuck at 'Not Yet Reported', for days. and I don't know if that's the same thing, or if they mean each node of the WSUS network.
I unregistered deleted the update log and the Software Distribution directory registered restarted wuauserv then I ran the command you suggested wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow and now the following error is showing up PT WARNING: Sync of Updates: 0x80244010 * WARNING: Failed to synchronize, error = 0x80244010 WARNING: WU client failed Searching for update with error 0x80244010 ## RESUMED ## AU: Search for updates [Call Id = ] # WARNING: Search callback failed, result = 0x80244010 Error: Agent failed detecting with reason: 0x80244010 Obviously, I've edited some stuff out, but this is the pertinent stuff.
Does reinstalling WSUS seem like it might be the only solution?
